A light 14 cm ceramic santoku for everyday cutting
The santoku has a fine ceramic blade of 14 cm and a polypropylene handle that tolerates 110 degrees, and it weighs about 80 g. It suits meat, fish and vegetables, and the blade stays sharp and does not rust with ordinary care.
A ceramic peeler that starts smoothly
The peeler has a fine ceramic blade angled so it starts smoothly with little resistance, plus a potato-eye remover. The ceramic does not pass metal ions onto fruit and vegetables, it does not rust and it can be cleaned with kitchen bleach.
A thin, reversible board with a non-slip surface
The cutting board is about 301 x 201 x 2 mm and weighs 115 g, thin and light enough to store anywhere. It can be used on both sides, the embossed surface helps prevent slipping and it can be disinfected with kitchen bleach or boiling water.
Three matching pink pieces in one pack
The knife, the peeler and the board come together in a pink colour scheme, so you do not need to choose each piece separately. It makes a cheerful starter kit for a first kitchen or a ready gift for someone starting a new home.
Honest notes on caring for ceramic blades
Ceramic blades can chip or break if they hit hard objects, so avoid pumpkin, frozen food, meat with bones, crab, corn and fruit stones. The peeler and the board are not for the dishwasher or dryer, and the board must stay away from heat.
More than 60 years of fine-ceramic craft

Frequently Asked Questions

What is in the set?

The set holds three pieces in pink: a ceramic santoku knife with a 14 cm blade, a ceramic peeler with a potato-eye remover and a thin colour cutting board. The knife weighs about 80 g, the peeler about 26 g and the board 115 g, so the whole set is light and easy to store.

What are the blades made of?

The knife and the peeler both have fine ceramic blades, which do not rust and do not transfer metal onto food. The knife handle is polypropylene that tolerates 110 degrees, the peeler body is ABS resin and the board is polypropylene, a light, tough plastic. The peeler can be cleaned with kitchen bleach for a fresh, hygienic finish.

Can ceramic blades chip?

Yes, ceramic blades can chip or break if they hit hard objects, so avoid pumpkin, frozen food, meat with bones, crab, corn and fruit stones. On soft foods such as vegetables, fish and boneless meat the knife cuts lightly and cleanly. Use a soft board and keep the knife away from hard surfaces for the longest life.

Can I use the dishwasher?

The peeler and the cutting board are not suitable for the dishwasher or the dryer, because heat can deform them, so please wash them by hand. The board can be disinfected with boiling water or kitchen bleach but must be kept away from fire and hot pots. Dry every piece before you store the set.

Where is it made?

The listing states that the peeler is made in China and does not state an origin for the knife or the board, so we do not claim an origin for the set. We ship the whole set directly from Japan, with tracking, in its retail pack, packed carefully so every piece arrives safely and ready for your kitchen.

How is this knife shipped and when will it arrive?

We ship directly from Japan, and delivery takes 7-14 business days. Any item with a shelf life ships with a minimum of 6 months remaining. Tracking is provided so you can follow your parcel from our shipping point to your door. Your knife is packed carefully so the blade arrives safely and ready for your kitchen.
