Who Is This For

The Outdoor Pole-Drying Regular: You dry your laundry outside on a pole, and you want everything to stay exactly where you hang it. Maybe you hang jeans, towels and thick hoodies along with lighter shirts, and a gust of wind is always part of the plan. Many clothespins clip only the edge of a garment, so we shaped ours differently. Our wide Y-shaped jaw sits over the pole and holds a hanger or two garments. The polycarbonate body is made to resist cracking and sun, with a metal spring inside. If you want laundry that stays put when the breeze picks up, we made this one for you.

Product Story

Outdoor drying poles were hard on ordinary clothespins. Sun and wind left plastic pinches cracked or snapped, and most were made of polypropylene. So we looked for a tougher plastic. We chose polycarbonate, the impact-resistant plastic also used in helmets and car parts. In our own impact tests, its plastic parts came out about 2 times as strong as polypropylene. We added a wide jaw that clamps from above the pole and a forked Y tip that holds 2 garments at once. That work became the CLR II pole pinch, model 20345, and today it comes as a set of 8 dark blue pinches.
