A full 15 L bucket is heavy, and Japanese bucket makers have spent decades learning that the handle takes the most strain in daily use. For the reinforced type of our Flex bucket, we strengthened the ring where the steel wire handle passes through the body, lifting handle strength by about 85% compared with our earlier model. We kept the body in soft polyethylene so it gives a little under knocks, and we gave it a large finger groove under the base, a rope groove on the handle, an inner volume scale and a sharp spout that cuts liquid off cleanly. The bucket is made in Japan, as marked on its package, and weighs about 680 g. Today it is a clear 15 L bucket for carrying, pouring and measuring water.
