Characteristics of Okukuji tea
Compared to tea from other regions, tea brewed with 80 degrees hot water contains more epigallocatechin gallade (EGCG).
It contains more methylated catechins, which are not found in commonly consumed green tea.

This data was revealed by the analysis of a research team at Tsukuba University (March 2009). As shown in the graph, the amount of catechins is indeed quite high. This is indeed a new attraction of Okukuji tea!
