Okukujidaigo well-known brand of quality green tea(Kuji)

It is a slightly dark tea with a rich aroma characteristic of mountain tea, which is also a characteristic of Okukuji tea.

Characteristics of Okukuji tea

Compared to tea from other regions, tea brewed with 80 degrees hot water contains more epigallocatechin gallade (EGCG). (Note.)

It contains more methylated catechins, which are not found in commonly consumed green tea.

(Note) EGCG has the following effects.

-Antioxidant effect -Reduction of cholesterol

-Anti-obesity - Inhibition of elevated blood pressure

-Anti-cancer -Deodorant, antibacterial, etc.

This data was revealed by the analysis of a research team at Tsukuba University (March 2009).

As shown in the graph, the amount of catechins is indeed quite high. This is indeed a new attraction of Okukuji tea!
